Can you believe we are now heading into our THIRD year!!!

Hope you all had a great Christmas and are now refreshed for our new swaps.

The first one of the year will be

Up, Up &Away...

Anything to do with the sky and flying. Hope this is a nice easy one to get the juices flowing again. As it's a new start I thought I'd refresh you with the arrangements for swapping. If you wish to take part, simply:

Make 4 ATCs (unless otherwise stated as we sometimes like to mix things up a little)
Send them to me with a SAE envelope (email me for my address, email link top of the sidebar)
Use a large letter stamp on the envelopes as opposed to regular (due to the thickness of the packages)
Once the end of the month arrives, I will swap them and return to you your ATCs

This is a monthly swap and I run it along calendar months. I will announce the theme at the beginning of the month and the due date for the ATCs is the last day of the month. Any questions, simply email me at atcswappers@hotmail.co.uk

Finally, if you'd like to help spread the word about the swap, please do. You can post pics of your ATCs on your blogs, add the ATC Swappers blinkie (in the sidebar) onto your blog, tell your friends - ANYTHING. You do not need a blog to participate though.

November Swaps

Well I think November broke the record for the amount of ATCs swapped in one go - 240!!!

A superb turn out. They've all been swapped and are ready to go now.

Can I take this opportunity to thank all you wonderful swappers for another great year at ATC Swappers. I reall enjoy the swaps each month. I know sometimes I'm a bit slow but then I am a one person team and I want to share everything so it takes time to photograph, upload, swap etc so I do thank you for your patience.

You've Been BOO'ed Swaps

Sorry that I'm running late this month.

Well the You've Been BOO'ed ATCs are in the post and on their way too you as I type. The pics can be seen at the bottom of this post. So what's November got in store? Well I've explained to you what we will be doing before but in case there's some new people here who may want to join, here we go again. The theme will be

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

This does not mean you have to do something with the lyrics, it simply means you make 12 identical (or as near as possible) ATCs for a bumper pre-Christmas swap.

This means you can make them all exactly the same as I did last year:

But I don't mind if you change up the colour or image a bit like Jane did previously. All I ask is that they are noticably from the same set as to make the swapping easier as there'll be a huge number of ATCs flying around:

As I made a note of who'd be joining in as I went along to see if there was enough interest, I've left that list in the sidebar and will change names to orange when they arrive. September ATCs with some Spooky News

Hi all, a bit of a lengthy post today. Can't believe it's the 9th of October already!

The September swaps have been done and are on their way (probably won't leave the box until Monday though so please be patient)

October brings us a new theme. The theme is:

YOU'VE BEEN BOO'ED!

The idea is to make spooky/scary/Halloween ATCs. It is a normal swap where we make 4 ATCs, all the same or all different. Post the to me by the last day of the month. Got it? Good. Can't wait to see what scary things drop throught the letter box. If you are new to the swap and want to join in then e-mail me (adress in side bar) and I'll let you know everything you need to know. If you want to take part in the October Swap then register your interest by commenting below.

Next month, November, is our 12 Days of Christmas swap. We will each make 12 Identical (or as near as you can, colours/slight image change are acceptable as long as it is obvious from looking at them that they are from the same set) Christmas Themed ATCs. They do not have to have anything to do with the song at all, it's just a play on words with the number. I have had interest from more than 12 so I am able to go ahead with it which is great. There's still room if you want to take part - the more the merrier. If you need inspiration or clarification of what we are trying to achieve, check out the ATCs HERE from last year when we ran the same swap.

August Swap Update

I know it's been a bit of a wait this month and I'd just like to thank you all for your patience. The ATCs have been swapped and will be in the post on Monday. If you'd like to see the Sporting Summer ones, then look below.

The September theme is TEA/COFFEE BREAK. All the details can be found HERE. I have had a bunch already and will be updating here soon (you are all better than me, haven't started mine yet!). The October theme will be a Halloween style swap with the theme being 'You've been BOO'ed!'. The final swap of the year will be a 12 Days of Christmas one. This was the same theme last year and it worked well and so we'll have another go. For the November swap, I'll need at least 13 participants for it to work (12 plus me). If you are interested in this then please let me know via e-mail or on this post here so I can see if there's enough interest. Sporty Sneak Peeks

Well I head off on my hols on Wednesday morning and will be busy doing all those last minute things tomorrow. So I thought I'd give you all a sneak peek of some of the ATCs that have arrived for the Sporting Summer swap. Due to my hols, the deadline has been extended until the 10th Sept so you still have time to join in. Details of the Sporting Summer swap can be found in a post below. In true X Factor style, in no particular order, here are the peeks:

This is what a 120 ATCs look like when spread out ready to be swapped!

Here's a bit of background to how I swapped last month's entries.

This swap was really hard to figure out for me as every person was swapping a different amount with up to 3 different styles too (really should have thought this through). It took a while to work out the logistics. Usually, I simply place all the swaps in a circle and rotate them but couldn't this time. We've had a swap before where everyone swapped 12 ATCs each but everyone created identical sets and everyone was having 12 back so it was easy - this was NOT! I ended up spreading across the upstairs landing in the end. I was sat at the top of the stairs (on the left) for most of the time. Well suprisingly, it all went very well in the end and now all have been posted out and are on their way to you all. ENJOY.

Remember, this month is a SPORTING SUMMER swap. If you want to join in, have a look at this post HERE and sign up. The swap are run per calendar month and usually the swaps need to be in by the last day of the month but this month you get an extra week as I'll be on my Holidays in Crete from 1st - 8th September. Before I head off I will do an official announcement of the September theme but if you want a head start, the theme has been added to the list on the side bar - TEA/COFFEE BREAK. If you do make them early, can I ask that you refrain from posting them until after the 8th of September so as not to mix up with the August swap and to give me a chance to catch up from my week away. AUGUST - SPORTING SUMMER

There were loads to take pics of! But they're here. I haven't swapped them as I'm waiting for one more set to arrive. On the waiting to arrive front, Michele who wanted to particpate with us last month for the ANIMAL ANTICS swap all the way from the States sent me some but they didn't arriver - that is until today! They finally arrived. Obviously they were too late for the Animal ones but I'd like her to get some animal themed ones back. I'm going to make one but I need 3 more people to volunteer to make one and add them to their envies for the Sporting Summer swap. It'll be down to the first 3 to comment below.

Also wanted to let you know that the August swaps will be a bit later in being swapped because I shall be in Crete from September 1st - 8th. That means you have an extra week to get them in! I will announce the September swap before I leave though.

July Swap - Seeing Quadruple

I'm still waiting on a set to arrive and so will be back soon with regards to the June swap. There's loads of great work to see and you will love the creations I'm sure. Thought I'd update you on the July swap whilst we wait. The theme is

SEEING QUADRUPLE

which means that this month, make 4 IDENTICAL ATCs. However, there's a twist too. You may create up to 3 different sets. That's right, you can make up to 12 ATCs (3 sets of 4). Each set may be different, but all 4 ATCs within each set must be the same. So you can enter 4, 8 or 12 ATCs this month. How does that sound. The content theme is open howver I think it would be great to have some summer themed ones too but this is not a requirement. Let the creative juices flow freely. Please express your interest in joining in by notifying me, either by e-mail or leaving a message in this post. If you are new to the blog and fancy joining in then drop me an e-mail at the address at the top of the sidebar and I shall forward all the info.

Tall Tales Sneak Peeks

TALL TALES

So, we are looking for any story characters, fairy tales inspired ATCs. Bring on the Little Red Riding Hoods, the Humpty Dumptys, the Willy Wonkas - whatever you can think of. This is a regular, straight forward swap when we swap 4 ATCs. It's up to you, they can be 4 identical ones or 4 unique ones.

Seeing as I'm going to be in Greece for the first 2 weeks in May, I have been ultra organised and made mine ready. I used Alice in Wonderland as my inspiration and have used some Bugaboo images to create these:

March Colour Challenges

Woohoo, March brings us a double challenge. This month we have two colour challenges:
'Red & Black' and 'Yellow & Black'

Usually, we make 4 ATCs for the monthly swap. This time you can choose your theme or if you fancy, make both options and have a bumper swap. It's all up to you.

Just to recap, the March options are to make:

4 Red & Black ATCs or

4 Yellow & Black ATCs or

Make both options, 8 in all.

These will not be run as separate swaps, i.e if you make some Red & Black ATCs, you may get some Yellow & Black in your swaps. I hope that is OK? Obviously, if you wish to make both options, they can be posted in the same envelope - no need for doubling up on postage costs!

All the January swap I was expecting have arrived and I wanted to draw your attention to Steph's set. She has created a set of four spelling out the word TORN. The reason I am showing this is that I think it would be a shame to split the set. If somebody would like to have the four so as to keep them like this then I can do so. Swap Themes

First of all

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

I can't believe it was a year ago that the swap was set up! Thanks to all of you who have made it a success by joining in with the swaps, following the blog, commenting and generally supporting the venture. I hope 2010 will be equally as successful if not more so. Please keep on spreading the word and encouraging others to join in.

Today I will announce the themes for the next 3 swaps - how organised am I!!! The next 3 months sorted. I know, can't quite believe it myself.

January - TEARING
Tearing is the theme for this month. Make 4 ATCs which include some form of 'tearing'.

February - TRIPTYCH
I saw this idea on a card somewhere and thought it would make an intersting and different theme for an ATC. I went about trying to work out how to do it and have come up with a quick tutorial with measurements to make it really easy.

The idea is to stamp a picture, create a backing paper or use a bought backing paper to create 3 panels of equal size. For this, I am creating the 'making a backing paper technique'. Firstly cut a piece of cardstock to 3" by 2 and a quarter".

Stamp over the piece.

Colour as desired

Now cut the piece in 1 inch wide strips.

Attach to ATC base.

How simple is that? The measurements are easy too.

Imagine taking a stamped image and slicing it into 3!

Add extra embellishment onto the backing paper!

Use your imagination and see what you can come up with.

Again, make 4 ATCs and post them to me as usual.

March - 'Red and Black' and/or 'Yellow and Black'

Here's the first double challenge of the year. It's a colour theme challeng once again.

If you are unfamiliar with our doubler challenges, basically it gives you more options.

You can choose one of the themes and make 4 ATCs or do both and make 8! So the options would be:

Make 4 'Red and Black' ATCs

Make 4 'Yellow and Black' ATCs

Make 8 ATCs, 4 of each of the themes.

Here's Steph's box that she made using last month's free gift. I like how she has embossed the green panels to add texture.

I'm really enjoying looking at how people have tackled these boxes. It's interesting how different people use the same basic kit and come up with such a range of boxes. Maybe we should do something similar again in the future - what do you think?

Here's how Hazel decorated her free Sizzix Box kit. She has used a Forever Friends stamp, coloured using Promarkers and added a bit of Opal Stickles.

Snowflakes seems to be the 'in thing' for stamping on the side panels!!!

Another Free Gift Idea

Here we go with another box made with last month's free gift. This time it's from Jane. She has used a Penguin from Elzybells to decorate hers and has added pink ribbon to the front of the box and as a tab to open the box and then added a flower held together with a brad.

Free Gift Ideas

Just wanted to share with you some ideas for using last month's free gift. Each participant was given the box base pieces and the panels to go with it.

Firstly, here's Anesha's. She was given a pack with red panels and used that as inspiration for the image. I love how she's stamped the snowflakes onto the red panels and added a sentiment vertically. The Pennyblack sheep was coloured using Promarkers and Copics.

And here's the one I made (yes, I had one kit left over and used it myself!). I ended up with the pink kit which stumped me at first but then remembered about my Elzybells cow. She has been coloured using Promarkers. I used the cow spot stamp which comes in the set to stamp onto the side panels. The sentiment used is also from the same clear stamp set. A bit of doodling finished it off nicely.

If any others have made a box using their free gift, then please send me some piccies to post here on the blog. I'm sure we'd all love to have a look at how others have used the kit.

Although there won't be an official announcement of themes until January, I thought I'd let you know in advance that 'tearing' will be the next theme. Just have some tearing of paper or whatever on some part of the ATC.

November Swaps

If you are a visitor to my blog then you'll know that I love this new Sizzix Die (Box 3) so I have decided to give each person a kit to make one of their very own. It has all the pieces to make the box and also all the panels ready cut for you. You have a piece of white card to stamp onto and decorate too! The coloured panels can also be decorated. The boxes are ideal for keeping you ATC collection inside.If you'd like to see a tutorial on making these boxes then there's a link HERE. I'd love to see what you make with them. Quick Update...

...on the November swap. I'm still waiting on a couple of packages for this swap and am going away for the weekend in the morning. Hopefully the remaining ATCs will arrive while I'm away and I'll conduct the swap on Monday. Hope that is OK. There are no sneak peeks to show either as I have managed to break my camera. I went for a hike and ended up under a waterfall - managed to keep my camera dry just to get home and put it in the washing machine!!! I should have my new one tomorrow and so will be able to put the pics up soon too.

November Theme - 12 Days of Christmas

Fancy a chance to bulk out your ATC collection in one go?

Welcome to our last swap for 2009. We will have a break over the busy Christmas period and begin again in January.

Our theme for this month is :

12 Days of Christmas

The idea is to make 12 identical, Christmas themed ATCs! This means that in December, you will get a bumper package as an early Christmas present. How does that sound? For this swap to work, we need at least 12 participants (plus me) to ensure a correct swap so please let me know if you are interested by dropping me an e-mail or by posting here. The reason I'd like them to be identical is to make the swapping easier at this end as there'll be a large number of ATCs to sort. If they are all the same then it'll make it easier to keep track of who gets what. However, there can be some flexibility - if you keep the same layout but change the character/colour way, then that is fine - as long as they are recognisably from the same set.

Also, if you could send the ATCs in an envelope that it at least A5 in size as there might be an extra surprise in the packages when you get them!!! An added bonus from me as a thank you for making this swap a success over the last year.

First of all a reminder of this month's theme:-

If you'd like to join in then it's simple. There are no commitments, no rules on what images to use, you're free to use any techniques - basically IT IS JUST FOR FUN. There is a poll up to decide on the October theme! Please trake a minute to vote for your fave. It'll be open until the 27th of this month.

Now to the big news. I have an idea for a special swap in November. The theme will be:

THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

I thought I'd do the Sneak Peeks a bit different this month and am going to show some each day (as there's so many of them) so keep checking back throughout each day leading to the big reveal at the end of the week. Some of these follow the sketch and others are obviously Black and White.

So here are the first 5, can you see yours?

Just to inform those who wish to get a head start, next month's theme will be 'WATER' so anything nautical, to do with the sea or even rain. Anyone have any other ideas for the water theme or indeed any theme for the upcoming months? If so, please do leave a comment.

July Swap - 'Black and White' and a 'Sketch'

Now that the June ATCs have been swapped and are all in the post as we speak, it's time to set the July themes. After the double themed colour challenge, I asked you what you thought of it and a lot of people liked the idea of the choice. So, once again, this month is a double themed month. As last time, you can choose to participate with both of them or just do one. Both themes are run as one swap so there's no need for sending two lots of SAEs and doubling postage etc.

So what are the themes? Well, they are:

'BLACK AND WHITE'

and

'A SKETCH'

I've never made an ATC by following a sketch so this could be interesting! The sketch is from Pagemaps and designed for a card but I thought it would also suit an ATC as it's fairly bold and uses a simple layout. You can flip it, turn it upside down, as long as you are following the basic idea of the sketch - be brave.

So, to clarify once again, your choices for this month are to make:

4 Black and White ATCs or

4 ATCs following the sketch or

8 ATCs (4 of each of the themes)

If you are new to the swap, then simply send me an e-mail at the address on the side bar and I will post you my address for the swap. New participants are always welcome. If you know of any other ATC fans and think they'd be interested in joining in then please do spread the word.

June's Theme

Well can you believe that we are running into the 6th month of the year and therefore the 6th swap! Time seems to be flying. After last months double swap we are now back to normal and just 4 ATCs each. I’m really interested in your thoughts about the last swap and whether having two themes running side by side is something we should try again. What do you think? Did you enjoy the choice? Well what a bumper amount of piccies we have to show you this month. As you are no doubt aware, there were 2 themes this month due to a tie in the voting and so a chance to create either 4 or 8 ATCs. So between doubling up and a fair few new swappers, this has been the biggest swap yet!

May Swap

Well May has arrived and with it brings a colour challenge. A poll was set up here to choose it and you lot didn’t want to make it easy at all!!! It was a tie between ‘Black and Blue’ and ‘Cream and Purple’. So what to do?

This month is slightly different as I’m giving you the choice of theme! You can either make 4 Black and Blue or 4 Cream and Purple – how does that sound? But that’s not the end of it, I said yesterday there might be a little twist and here it is – just for this month, if you'd like, then you can make BOTH options – that’s right, you can make 8 ATCs – 4 of each of the colour options. How does that sound?

Just to recap, the May options are to make:
4 Black and Blue ATCs or
4 Cream and Purple ATCs or
Make both options, 8 in all.

These will not be run as separate swaps, i.e if you make some Black and Blue ATCs, you may get some Purple and Cream in your swaps. I hope that is OK? Obviously, if you wish to make both options, they can be posted in the same envelope - no need for doubling up on postage costs lol!

EDIT: Oooops!!! Only just realised that I've been in a bit of a muddle. I was replying to some enquiries from new swappers earlier and thought I'd look at the original list of themes I sent out back in January (which I did say was not set in stone lol) and noticed that the theme for this month was going to be 'Call of the Wild' and not a colour one as I thought (colour is meant for next month) - don't know how I mixed them up. Woohoo - don't you just love the end of the month just so that we can see all the great work that could be coming your way. Usually I add a small Thank You card with the ATCs but this month I've tried something a little different. When you get your package this month, there won't be 4 ATCs inside - there'll be 5!!! March Swap

I know this sounds a bit early to be announcing the March theme already but as I am going away on holiday and won't be back until the 6th March, I thought I'd post it before I go.

Originally, the March swap was going to be 'Wales' to celebrate St David's day. I was thinking dragons, daffodils, leeks, hills and sheep music or simply a Red Green and White colour scheme. However, this has been amended slightly due to a suggestion from Hazel (Thank You for the great idea). So instead of Wales, the theme will be

PATRIOTISM

This means that you can do anything about your country or indeed any country. Hope this opens up more ideas and makes it easier for you.

Quick Update

No real news so far except for my computer being affected by a virus and wouldn't allow me to access my internet at all without blocking every page. However, good old Norton has come to the rescue and fingers crossed I am back to normal. I have tried to keep up to date with the e-mails by hijacking my sisters laptop but if you have tried contacting me with any news and are waiting for a response, then please do so again just in case it has slipped through the net.

If you look on the left hand side of the blog, I have added a new section 'They've arrived'. When I receive ATCs, I shall add your name here so that you can check if yours have arrived. I'm hoping this will be an easy way of keeping track (for you and for me!!!).

I've had a few more people show an interest in the swap since the January one but do please keep spreading the word (I know most of you have as it states in the e-mails I get, Thank You)

February Theme

Now that all the January ATCs have been swapped and posted, it is time to announce the February theme:

COUNTRYSIDE

Think animals, farms, wildlife, green fields and trees - let your imagination run wild!!! The swap will run the same as last time. If you are new to our swap and want to join in then simply send an e-mail to the contact at the top left of the blog.

The only issue this month is the 'send back date'. I am flying off to Greece on the 24th of February for a 10 day Rock Climbing trip and so will be away at the end of the month. Rather than confuse people by changing the due date to an earlier one, the swap will take place as soon as I get back. I hope this is OK with everyone (it also gives you a few days extra to get them in).

Can I thank you all for the sterling effort you have put into the ATCs - they all look superb and all so very different. I've been photographing them all this morning ready to post here at the end of the month.

I know there are more people who have shown interest and I'm eagerly awaiting more masterpieces.

If you have any suggestions for improvement either with the swap, new themes or things we can do with the blog then please leave me a comment here or e-mail me on the address in the side bar - all ideas are welcome.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MAKING AND SWAPPING ATCS? IF YOU ARE THEN YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

This blog has been set up as a small but fun ATC Swap. There are no commitments, no rules on what images to use, you're free to use any techniques - basically IT IS JUST FOR FUN. The current set up is that you make 4 ATCs (all identical or all unique) and post them off and in return you will receive 4 different ATCs back.

This swap is open to anyone (but do keep in mind that it is UK based) and so if you'd like to join in then please send an e-mail to:
